During a trip to Fiji in which I followed up some fascinating family history, I took the time to document my travels via the lush tropical botanicals that wowed me everywhere I went.
The dark history of my ancestor who was killed and eaten by Fijian cannibals – yes, that is what I said! – contrasts wildly to the vibrant beauty of the botanicals and the people that I met.
These stunning plants and flowers made the story all the more surreal, as I travelled to the community where and by whom my great great uncle was murdered, along with his 7 followers.
If you’d like to know more, the story is given more detail in my blog, here.
