Dance rehearsal can be a challenge to shoot – you never know when the action is about to occur and then it’s gone in the blink of an eye, a spectacular moment passed.
Watching Rain and Lucky Dance Theatre rehearse this piece “Whatever You Do Don’t Panic” was exciting and kept me on my toes.
I found the use of furniture quirky and unexpected, but given the topic, it worked really well.
This piece depicts the time that the choreographer experienced a series of frightening panic attacks.
Her behaviour and inner world were at odds with her usual demeanour. In reflection, she gains a new perspective on how that may have appeared to others, juxtaposed on that intense internal nightmare.
