Flowers, when you take a moment to get up close and personal, hold so much detail and activity.
They quietly attract, detract, tolerate, receive and reproduce, among other things.
Their beauty and colour is purposeful, practical.
I’m no green thumb and I once didn’t really have time for flowers, because they represented all things pretty and feminine, which I did not want to get too stuck in, or pressured to be.
I have learnt a lot since then, about myself and the incredible depth of flowers. Mostly by taking a peek through the macro lens and beholding – wow.
They keep drawing me back to their folds, their secrets, their dance of colour and light.
I hope these images give you a joyous peek into the deeper world of the flower.
