Frequently Asked Questions

If I see a photograph I love on the site that is not in the shop, can I buy it?

All photographs you see on Alison Shirley's site can be purchased, just take a screenshot of your favourite and get in touch with Alison to make a request.

How long will it take to receive the artwork?

This depends on how many processes the work has to go through before getting to you. For example, if you are ordering a print with no frame it will arrive more quickly as it needs to be signed and numbered after printing, but not framed and mounted also. Usually you will receive the print around 7 - 10 days. With framing added it might be up to 14 days

Is the artwork insured for postage?

Yes, as part of the shipping cost, insurance is added according to the value of the work being shipped.

Can I puruchase a piece in the shop if I don't have a paypal account?

Yes, you continue through as a "guest" and you can enter your credit card details to pay, no paypal account being necessary.

What happens if I don't like it when it arrives?

All works are returnable if in perfect condition and returned within one week of arrival.

What do the different material choices in the shop mean?

The material choices are about the paper used to print the artwork. The Lustre or Pearl paper is a beautiful paper and has a slight sheen without being too shiny. You do, however, have to be careful not to expose it to sunlight ongoing if you want it to last forever. The Cotton Rag paper is thicker and superior in quality, it's archival quality is much more sturdy. It has a slightly more textured surface, closer and is worth the extra cost for a truly Fine Art print. The Luna canvas is like a stretched painting, the canvas being a high quality Prine Satin, perfect for long-lasting textured canvas look artwork.
